Jacqui was born and grew up in South Wales. She studied Art in south Devon and Loughborough graduating with a BA (Hons) in three dimensional design specialising in jewellery and silversmithing. Jacqui subsequently spent several years working in Cardiff as a designer jeweller and as a visiting lecturer in 3D design until moving in to the field of public art project co-ordinator, whilst raising a family.Working at CywaithCymru Artworks Wales and Cardiff Bay Art Trust brought her into contact with the Royal Society of Architects in Wales (RSAW) and the Welsh School of Architecture (WSA).

She made a leap in scale from jewellery to architecture graduating from the WSA with a BSc in Architecture, First Class Honours (Part I), and the T. Alwyn Lloyd Travelling Scholarship. Fully qualifying in 2006 she met Karen Hoole at the WSA and the two established Hoole & Walmsley Architects.

Jacqui’s work in practice includes both residential and commercial work for private and public sector clients with her work with Loyn & Co Architects being the most instructional and rewarding. She has become a regular visiting critic at the WSA and an active member of the RSAW.
