Jacqui was born
and grew up in South Wales. She studied
Art in south Devon and Loughborough graduating
with a BA (Hons) in three dimensional design
specialising in jewellery and silversmithing.
Jacqui subsequently spent several years
working in Cardiff as a designer jeweller
and as a visiting lecturer in 3D design
until moving in to the field of public art
project co-ordinator, whilst raising a family.Working
at CywaithCymru Artworks Wales and Cardiff
Bay Art Trust brought her into contact with
the Royal Society of Architects in Wales
(RSAW) and the Welsh School of Architecture
(WSA).
She made a leap in scale from jewellery
to architecture graduating from the WSA
with a BSc in Architecture, First Class
Honours (Part I), and the T. Alwyn Lloyd
Travelling Scholarship. Fully qualifying
in 2006 she met Karen Hoole at the WSA and
the two established Hoole & Walmsley
Architects.
Jacqui’s work in practice includes
both residential and commercial work for
private and public sector clients with her
work with Loyn & Co Architects being
the most instructional and rewarding. She
has become a regular visiting critic at
the WSA and an active member of the RSAW.
