A proposed one bedroom dwelling on the site of a redundant domestic garage,
to the rear of a Victorian Terrace.

A discrete insertion of a new two storey structure behind the face of the existing stone boundary wall, accessed via an inner courtyard. Introspective in character providing an inner private escape, in contrast with busy city life. The new building is subservient in its appearance to the surrounding existing dwellings and provides a backdrop for new vegetation in an area which would benefit from greening. The aim was to respond to the need for sensitive and appropriate infill within an urban location to enable sustainable use of brownfield land.
